We often rush past the profound…
For example, the word Selah (סֶלָה), appears 74 times in Scripture, commanding us to Pause + Halt—to truly reflect. But the story runs deeper, doesn’t it?
We were today years old when we learned that sela is actually also used in Afrikaans (our mother tongue!) for the same purpose.
In other ancient traditions, ‘se’ speaks to one’s self, new beginnings, or the seed of creation, while ‘lah’ (or la) vibrates with the universal forces of God, energy, and motion.
Put them all together, and se-lah becomes our complete ethos; an intentional, life-giving rhythm of holistic pragmatism:
|| Find your true self
|| Pause for restoration, and
|| Move forward with renewed energy + purpose.
…This is why we chose to rebrand ContentCafé to se-lah.
Jacob (the Supplanter) was blessed with the name Israel (He Who Wrestles with God) after his night of struggle, our rebrand marks our intentional transition from the old nature of striving and chaos to a new, blessed identity of covenant and focused peace. We’re blessed, because we’re living the life we were created to enjoy, doing the things that align with our spirit.
We’re not our work. We’re us, and we create. When we’re not on the beach, in the kitchen, or in the garden, we’re in the office, delivering the same expert content writing, editing, and strategy services you’re used to. We have the same radical commitment to quality and efficiency—but a new slate, a creative new approach, and one simple banner: se-lah.
We’ve mastered the pause so we can help you master your mission. Choose your topic below, and let’s connect.
